Visiting Technology Leaders

ARBERLAND REGio - visiting technology leaders
Mesutronic GmbH hosted the networking format “Visiting Technology Leaders”. This was held for the seventh time by ARBERLAND REGio GmbH. The focus was on the use of AI in modern mechanical engineering.

During the factory tour on the premises of Mesutronic, the participants examined the latest innovations in production technology, software and hardware development, as well as in company processes. The 50 or so interested participants were representatives of local business, politics and science. The presentation segment was opened by the District Administrator of Regen, Rita Röhrl. Christian Boxleitner, Managing Director of Mesutronic, then gave an insight into the current and future use of artificial intelligence in the corporate environment.

The event continued with presentations on the topic of AI, including the keynote speech “Machine Learning in Mechanical Engineering” by the renowned Prof. Dr. Patrick Glauner, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the TH Deggendorf. The series of lectures was concluded with closing remarks by the head of district development, Ms. Judith Weinberger-Singh.

Christian Boxleitner takes over as managing director of Mesutronic GmbH

On 1 January, 2022, the previous managing director and co-founder of the foreign body detection specialist from Lower Bavaria, Karl-Heinz Dürrmeier (63), was replaced by Christian Boxleitner (47). Dürrmeier leaves the company in excellent shape after 28 years at the helm and will retire on 31 May, 2022 following a transitional phase in an advisory capacity.

As his designated successor, Christian Boxleitner has already been in charge of Marketing and Sales for over a year. After previously working as a development engineer at Mesutronic, he held managerial positions at various internationally operative companies. These jobs were accompanied by an MBA study course in “Digital Corporate Governance”.

One of the new CEO’s core goals is to make greater use of digitisation tools for the already begun path of uncompromising customer orientation in the areas of communication, solutions and service.

“The mechanical engineering industry must learn from the major players in the B2C sector. It must understand its customers and their needs and put them first. In the course of digitisation, a positive customer experience will become a central differentiating element in the competition for customers and projects through easier comparability in a transparent knowledge society. “One recognisable trend is product individualisation. Here I clearly see the strengths of medium-sized mechanical engineering companies and, above all, of Mesutronic – series quality at batch size 1,” says Boxleitner.

Mesutronic GmbH is one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of innovative foreign body detection systems. The company has installed over 40,000 inspection devices (metal detectors, metal separators and X-ray machines) worldwide. 230 employees, of whom 27 are trainees, are employed at the Kirchberg im Wald site. Since 2019, Mesutronic GmbH has been majority-owned by the stock market listed INDUS Holding AG from Bergisch Gladbach.

The Indus Holding AG from Bergisch Gladbach acquires a majority share of the detection system specialist located in Kirchberg im Wald, Germany.

Investment company Indus is specialized in company succession in SME’s and long term and sustainable enterprise development. The operative management will stay unchanged for the foreseeable future. As daughter company, also the Mesutronic France SAS becomes part of the Indus Holding AG.

In over 25 years of company history, the Mesutronic GmbH lived through different stages of growth. The operative business started in 1993 with a staff of 5. Today more than 40.000 systems have been sold to over 50 countries, while the company grew to over 210 employees.

To secure further development in the future, the company owners, mostly still working actively in management, have decided to settle the matter of succession early on. „We had time to decide on a really fitting partner“ says Karl-Heinz Dürrmeier (60), CEO and managing partner of Mesutronic.

Die Indus AG is an expert for succession in medium sized enterprises and so called “Hidden Champions“. Dr.-Ing. Johannes Schmidt (58), chairman of the Indus AG gives a clear statement on this topic: “As the leading specialist in the field of sustainable investment in the German-speaking SME sector, we acquire mostly owner-managed companies and assist them in setting a long-term trajectory for their entrepreneurial development.” The group currently holds shares in 45 companies of various industries, amongst others in engineering, life science and automotive technology.

“With Indus at our side we are well positioned for the future. In addition to our own resources, we can now tap in the entrepreneurial know-how and the support of a company family with more than 10.000 employees. With this backup we can now focus on boosting our future development projects.” explains Karl-Heinz Dürrmeier further.

The operative management staff will remain unchanged for the next years to come. Also, in terms of customer or supplier relations there are no changes to be expected.

Mesutronic exhibits once again at the POWTECH 2017 in Nuremberg

The POWTECH runs from 26 to 28 September 2017 in Nuremberg and will once again be the platform for further development and innovation connected with processes used to manufacture and handle quality products from powders, granulates, bulk materials and fluids.

Reliable metal detectors are a must

In order to be able to make quality products, every manufacturer requires reliable metal detectors and separators for checking its product quality so that contaminants can be detected and the contaminated product removed from the production process. At Booth 2-140 we are once again presenting appliances that are used to ensure product quality and to protect production machines.

QUICKTRON 07 RH for bulk materials in free-fall

The QUICKTRON 07 RH metal separator is a particular highlight in the bulk materials sector. The separator reliably sorts out metals as loose particles or inclusions without interrupting the process. The appliance is immune to external interference and, thanks to its compact design, is simple to integrate. Its hygienic design is particularly user-friendly. The ejection flap of the QUICKTRON 07 RH can not only be dismounted in a matter of seconds without tools, but also allows comprehensive cleaning.

TRANSTRON XL for the examination of sacks

Also at the Mesutronic booth, trade fair visitors can experience the special TRANSTRON XL conveying system for the transport of piece and bulk goods in the production process. The conveying system allows the integration of a metal detector from the METRON 07 CI series for reliable examination of the products. The metal detection system not only offers budget-saving individual solutions, but also long-term trouble-free metal detection results.

PHARMATRON 07 HQ for tablet presses and dedusting systems

We offer the PHARMATRON 07 HQ mobile metal separator for the pharmaceuticals industry. The separator is used for the examination of tablets and pills and fits every tablet press and deduster. The appliance impresses with top detection results and its fast ejection flap ensures minimum loss of material in case metal is detected. All parts that come into contact with the product can be dismounted quickly without tools for fast, optimum cleaning.

Mesutronic experts looking forward to meeting visitors

All interested trade visitors are welcome to come to the Mesutronic trade fair booth and see for themselves our reliable metal detectors and separators, which are indispensable for ensuring product quality. Out experts will be pleased to advise you and look forward to welcoming numerous trade fair visitors.

25 years of a metal-free life sentence – MESUTRONC Gerätebau GmbH celebrates anniversary

From 21 to 22 July 2017 we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the founding of our company at the company site. A production hall was converted over the course of a few days into a party hall and the Mesutronic site into a festival site.

Honorary certificate at the start of the anniversary

The first day of the celebration was reserved for representatives from politics, industry and associations. The day began with a get-together in which the visitors were able to get to know one another, discuss current topics and naturally also learn about the history of Mesutronic GmbH. Amongst other things that took place in the official part, managing director Karl-Heinz Dürrmeier received an honorary certificate from the chief executive of the Lower Bavarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Walter Keilbarth. That was followed by a delicious “flying buffet” with regional dishes.

Departments showed their creative side

In the afternoon there was an opportunity for the guests to take part in a works inspection. The various areas of our company presented themselves on the guided tour, acting with great creativity. Amongst other things, the Empire State Building was built from printing paper packets and a pyramid from 1000 pedestals. A particular highlight was also the newly built showroom, in which all devices are on show. The event drew to a close in the late afternoon with a cosy get-together.

Employees celebrated on Saturday

The second day belonged to the Mesutronic employees and their families and friends, as well as our sales partners. At the start of the celebration most of the employees took the opportunity to show their companions the company and their place of work. For the younger guests there was a bouncy castle as well a playmobile. A magician by the name of “Waltini” also entertained the children, as did the band “Manda” the adults. Everyone was once again fascinated by the Aikido demonstration by the TSV Schönberg. The buffet was opened in the late afternoon – a mixture of regional and international, like our company. Apart from Bavarian classics such as roast pork, there were American pulled pork burgers, Italian antipasti and French crêpes.

Where machines usually stand

Following the official part the convivial celebration began. Where metalworking machines usually stand a large stage had been erected on which the band “First Flash” from Ulm warmed up the guests with top-notch rock covers. A particular highlight besides that was a bar where one could enjoy alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Over the course of the evening, several tables and chairs were spontaneously pushed aside to create a dance floor on which to while away the evening – the celebrations went on into the early hours of the morning.

Facts about Mesutronic

Mesutronic GmbH was founded in 1992 in Rottenburg an der Laaber (district of Landshut). Production began in 1993 with five employees on a floor area of 250 sq. metres in Kirchberg. We have been producing at the present location since 2005, initially with a production area of 2,500 sq. metres and office space of 800 sq. metres. In 2015 the capacities were expanded to 6,000 sq. metres of production space, 1,800 sq. metres of office space and 1,300 sq. metres of warehouse space. Our company is represented by service and sales offices in over 40 countries in the world. Over 35,000 inspection devices (metal detectors, metal separators and X-ray devices) have been installed over the last 25 years. Mesutronic with new “easySCOPE” X-ray appliance at the IFFA 2016

Kirchberg/Frankfurt am Main. On Thursday, 12 Max 2016, the gates closed on the IFFA, the internationally leading trade fair for meat processing in Frankfurt am Main. Over 63,000 visitors from 143 countries came to gather information about innovations in the industry.

Assurance of the quality of already packed products is an important subject in the “End of Line” area of meat processing. For this area Mesutronic GmbH presented its new “easySCOPE” X-ray appliance, which detects metallic and non-metallic contaminants such as plastics, stone or glass. The visitors to the Mesutronic trade fair booth were particularly impressed by the compact structure and the hygienic design, as well as the extremely intuitive operation of the appliance. The X-ray scanner is also ideal for newcomers to the field of foreign body inspection by X-ray.

A particular highlight at the Mesutronic booth was the new autoTEST test system. The fully automatic testing system has been designed for checking performance and supports the user in his daily work. That saves time and money through less use of personnel resources while ensuring maximum process safety and product quality.

The appliance manufacturer from Lower Bavaria was very satisfied with the number of people attracted to the booth. There was a 20 percent increase in the number of national and international contacts in comparison with the last IFFA. This resulted in numerous new projects in the meat processing industry.

You can see the “easySCOPE” X-ray appliance live once again at the FachPack 2016 in Nuremberg at booth 342 in Hall 4, together with further metal detection systems from Mesutronic.
